Our rector, the Reverend Jacqueline McGrady, came to St. Mark's in July of 1999. She was raised on Nantucket and educated in the public schools there. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Amherst College in 1987 and her Master of Divinity from Harvard in 1990. She completed a post graduate degree in Anglican Studies at General Theological Seminary in 1991. Her areas of study since 1991 have included the effects of domestic and sexual violence, the process and effects of alcoholism and drug addiction, conflict management, and ministry with youth and children.

Pastor Jackie was ordained in the Diocese of Massachusetts in May of 1992. She has worked in chaplaincy at Harvard University's Memorial Chapel and Massachusetts General Hospital. She also has served at parishes in Brookline, Massachusetts; New York City; Garrison, New York and Nashua, New Hampshire.

Pastor Jackie, her husband Peter and their son John Carl live in Burlington. They have two dogs, Cisco and Scully. Her interests outside of ministry include parenting her young son, listening to music (especially live jazz), and reading.

She is available for conversation, the sacrament of reconciliation, marriage preparation and other counsel, and normally is in the office Monday through Thursday.
